Kiryu Kazuma
The Dragon of Dojima

Kazuma Kiryu begins Yakuza 0 as a young enforcer for the Dojima Family, operating in Kamurocho. Though he is only a low-ranking member, he already stands out for his unwavering sense of honor and strong moral compass. Unlike many of his peers, Kiryu does not seek power or influence—he simply wants to prove himself as a capable and reliable yakuza. However, when a routine job unexpectedly spirals out of control, he finds himself caught in the middle of a dangerous conspiracy.
As Kiryu struggles to clear his name, he quickly realizes that the world of the yakuza is far more treacherous than he believed. He faces betrayal, shifting alliances, and powerful enemies, all while trying to stay true to his principles. Along the way, he meets key figures who challenge his understanding of strength, loyalty, and what it truly means to be a part of the yakuza.
Throughout Yakuza 0, Kiryu undergoes significant growth. Initially, he is straightforward and somewhat naïve, viewing conflicts as matters of physical strength. However, as he is forced into increasingly complex situations, he learns the importance of strategy, patience, and knowing when to fight. His experiences shape him into a man who is not only powerful but also wise, willing to walk his own path even when it puts him at odds with those around him.
By the end of Yakuza 0, Kiryu has forged his own identity, setting the foundation for the legendary figure he will become. His journey is one of resilience, self-discovery, and a deepening understanding of what it truly means to be strong—not just in battle, but in character.
